ARMITAGE-12 frowns "Erich's squad of Kriegs were hunting the last of us down--Erich got the jump on me but Lyn Tackled him, They slid down a slope rolling---I don't know what happened after that."
PHEE: Lyn tackled Erich?
ARMITAGE-12 nods
PHEE swung her legs over the bed, and sat on the edge.
ERICH Over the PA "This is Zufreur, Stand down, Alert Alpha."
ARMITAGE-12: "She tackled him, She was ontop He kicked her off but she grabbed him and they both rolled down the clif
PHEE: "Then I guess I have to ask him."
ARMITAGE-12 nods
ERICH Over the PA "Zufreur off duty, Casandra has the Con.
PHEE simulates a sigh. "I can't believe that survived."
ARMITAGE-12: "You're as surprised as I am, I thought Lyn's child had died.."
PHEE: "Lyn's child" she repeats, smiling incredulously.
PHEE turns to him "Please tell me about her."
ARMITAGE-12 crosses his arms thinking back "Lyn? She was brilliant, very kind of all beings even humans.. Even though they tried to kill her she still cared about that--she was also a great friend... At least all of this was before Origin afterwards she became quiet.. very repressed."
PHEE purses her lips, as if to begin to sob, but there's too much emotional weariness to manage it. In that expression, you suddenly see Lyn in her daughter's face. "I can't imagine living with those choices."
ARMITAGE-12: "You look like her now that i think about it..." he frowned placing a hand on her shoulder "She made tought choices--I'm sorry she wasn't here to see you today.. Are you really going to ask Erich what happened though?"
PHEE: "I don't know. He and I have been through a hell of a lot together. In a few days, I've learned that he was part of a small, elite group responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of us, maybe a million, and that to top it all off, he may have killed my mother. My REAL mother. It's hard to know what to think. I knew he had some skeletons in his closet, but this..."
ARMITAGE-12 frowns "That must be hard to wake up and find out someone you know and trust is--Potentially your worse nightmare, but this was all in the past--I hope he would tell you.."
PHEE: "If he did, then what? What do I do with that information? And as for him, even if he did feel anything about having perhaps killed my mother, he wouldn't dare express it, especially not to me."
ARMITAGE-12: "You know what happened to your mother and you have closeur--Also Phoenix think of it as a test, If you can confirm he killed your mother then forgive him.." He smiles slightly 'Then your mother was right.."
PHEE looks at him "And what if I can't?"
ARMITAGE-12: "Then it's something you know, you'll have to work on Phoenix.."
PHEE: "I honestly don't know what I'll do. I can't predict it. The equations break down past that point of doubt - of knowing or not knowing. Past that point, entropy takes over and no solution suggests itself.
ARMITAGE-12: "I understand Phoenix." Frowns "You obviously care for Erich though."
PHEE: "I do. A great deal. Life has taught him not to care, because he can never afford it. And that kills me. My heart burns for him - for the pain he only lets peek out ."
ARMITAGE-12: "It was just his upbringing he is a prime example we can learn from he is a true product of the the German State.."
PHEE: "I confronted him about the New Haven raid. I was angry. He became angry. He didn't express remorse. He said he'd do it again today if he were in that situation again. Maybe talking to him about my mother will just reinforce his sense of helplessness in the face of destiny. It's a double edged sword for him. To find value, he must learn he can make a difference. But if he accepts that, he has so much for which he must answer. Power and responsibility, intertwined."
